Time Flies, Life Happens

It’s all about having s’more fun.

Well, I’m back. It’s hard to believe 9 years have passed since my last post. A lot of water has gone under the bridge! And not just this year (I’m looking at you, 2020!). I reached a peak in my graphic design career, with more work during 2010-13 than I’d ever imagined when I started freelancing in 2004. In 2013 I made a major career shift, to become Mom to ASA. He was joined by sister AJA in 2015 and life was full, fun, and a bit cramped in our two-bedroom apartment. In 2017 we moved into our wonderful, spacious home with 4 tiny bedrooms and a garage and an unconventional backyard with a forest beyond the fence. It’s perfect for us.

Nowadays, we are homeschooling (by choice rather than district requirement) and thriving in our Classical Conversations community. Playdates with neighbors, church on Sunday, and Karate lessons are the highlights of our weekly routine. When I get a quiet moment to myself, I have been reading the Bible and journaling favorite passages. I have been working on getting back out on the jogging trail, which was renovated in the last few years and is still very close to home. I haven’t been knitting much, sadly, but cooking more than ever, especially since BN began working from home in March and we are all together at every meal. I love to eat, and cooking has always been a hobby as well as a big part of my job. I’ve been thinking I should get back to the blog, so that’s where I’ll start, posting the recipes I’ve developed for my meal-planning mix of fun and practical to fit my family’s needs in this season.
