analysis

a usability study

For this exercise in task analysis, I decided to conduct a user survey on the Time Management product in the Kintana IT Governance suite. The module was overdue for some interface/usability attention, and it had a large user base within our existing customers.

This study involved writing a project proposal, defining research goals, writing the survey questions, and interviewing users. Then I transcribed the interviews, organized the research results, and interpreted them in the form of a task diagram, shown above.

Finally, I presented a summary of my study results to the Time Management product team, with specific interface suggestions.
