Unlike some of my knitting friends, I am not an online yarn shopper. I just can’t get over the obstacle of needing to see the color(s) and feel the texture of yarn before I’m even tempted to buy it. And if I’m trying to find something just right for a specific project? Only in person will I be able to tell if the yarn is giving off the right vibes.

My friend SF lives in Salem and has an etsy shop – she sells hand-dyed yarn and roving. I read her blog, and I entered her blogiversary contest and won a free skein! Lucky me. I had been wanting to buy yarn from her, so I ordered two and got one free as my prize. Aren’t they pretty?

3 Fates Knitting: Lachesis Sock in "Brower"

3 Fates Knitting: Culture Sock in "Haiku"

I got yarn in the mail for the first time yesterday.
